Cherubism is a congenital childhood disease of
autosomal dominant inheritance, characterized by
painless bilateral enlargement of the jaws, in which bone
is replaced with fibrous tissue, and is well-known to
regress without treatment following puberty. Boys are
more affected than girls at the proportion of 2:1.
